THE PROJECT

Why "Project"?

Youth sports are full of scoreboards, rankings, and highlight reels. But the most important work is happening where few are watching — in conversations on the drive home, decisions made over months and years, and daily habits that shape both athletes and families.

That's why it's called the Rising Athlete Project.

A project isn't something you finish. It's something you continue to build. Every season brings new challenges. Every stage invites new questions. Every athlete — and every parent — is still growing.
The Rising Athlete Project exists to help families navigate that journey with confidence, purpose, and perspective through practical guides, free resources, and thoughtful insights for every stage of youth sports.

Created by Stephen Anderson, 4K-12th grade athletic director, coach, PE teacher, and parent

The Rising Athlete Project exists to help families at all stages of their youth sports journey.

Every season, I find myself having the same conversations — in hallways after school, along the sidelines, and in parking lots after games. Parents want to do the right thing. Athletes are trying to make sense of new challenges. But those conversations rarely feel sufficient.

The Rising Athlete Project is my attempt to continue them and cover the things I wish I could say if I had more time.

I'd be thrilled to connect with you. This project is just as much yours as it is mine.
